Rhonda Smith-Banchero (née Smith; born May 1, 1973) is an American former basketball player. She played college basketball for the Washington Huskies where she graduated as the school's all-time leading scorer with 2,948 points and was inducted to the Husky Hall of Fame in 2004.
Rhonda’s professional WNBA spanned several seasons while playing for the Seattle Reign, Portland Power, and Sacramento Monarchs. Banchero also played overseas in Taiwan and Isreal. Today, Rhonda is a Director of Organizational Equity and Inclusion for a Non-Profit in Seattle.
Before moving to mornings in March 2024, she was the weekend anchor for FOX5 and reported for the weekday evening shows. She also is the host of FOX5’s true crime DMV series on FOX Local.
Dec 13, 2022 · Banchero's mother Rhonda is African-American and his father Mario is Italian. Paolo obtained Italian citizenship in 2020, making him eligible to play for the Italian national team in the future. He seems more than excited to play for the green, white and red.
