Virginia Tech makes every effort to provide educational opportunities to individuals who are not seeking a degree from the university, but who wish to continue their education by taking courses at Virginia Tech for college credit or, in some cases, degree credit.
A degree at Virginia Tech is made up of multiple components, Pathways to General Education, major requirements, and free electives. Every student will complete requirements for Pathways to General education which make up 43-45 credits of a degree.
