This Whispers in the Woods walkthrough explains how to unlock this Tales of Tsushima side quest, the quest location, how to complete it, and what rewards you get. Here’s how to find out what’s really going on in the forest.
Like all side quests, you can unlock this quest directly or stumble upon the quest, cutting out the middle man by following the golden bird to the location. You can also unlock this side quest by talking to the woman at Yagata Farmstead.
The Whisper in the Woods quest takes place in the Yagata Forest. Talk to the man playing the flute in front of the fire to start the quest.
Whisper in the Woods Walkthrough
Objectives
•Search for Spirits in the Forest
•Investigate the Campsite
•Follow the Tracks
Go straight, following the path away from the peasant. You’ll reach a fork in the road. Go right into the house for some lore in the form of a scroll. Otherwise, take the path on the left leading deeper into the forest. This leads to a fox den.
Follow the fox and honor the Inari Shrine ahead. Examine the items nearby and afterward, an animal will strike. Dodge its attacks when signaled (flash of red) and kill it.
Go towards the marshy area until you find the campsite. Use the lanterns to guide you. Check it out. Examine the footprints.
Defeat the bandits.
Tips:
•Watch out for arrows being shot at you.
•Lure enemies from the group to avoid being ganged up on.
Head back to the traveler to give him a new story to tell.
