The Conan version appears to be more flavorful that the D&D version. Fighter vs. Soldier - Essentially the same, but some additional "fighting in formation" feats for the Soldier.

May 1, 2018 · After all, musclebound barbarian in leather underpants as he was once or twice in the books, Conan does for the sake of consistency have to be so in the art. The vast majority of the time however people are fully clothed and appropriately armoured etc. including the 'sword sisters'.

The level 20 capstone is powerful, but it isn't worth staying single class to get there. Players going to upper levels in the official rules should use the mutli-class options in part 3.
