Reworked sprites and maps in the style of fan-made MOTHER 4 but all keeping the original layout of EarthBound. Ability to run like in MOTHER 3. Harder difficulty mode. First try running the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7. Right click the “Mother – Cognitive Dissonance” executable and click “Properties”. Under the “Compatibility” tab, run the game in compatibility mode for Windows 7 and click “Apply”. The game will now run in fullscreen properly by pressing Alt+Enter or F4.
jeffman made a 100% complete translation of Mother 2 (more like he ported EarthBound) for 1+2. Patch a clean rom of 1+2 with mato’s Mother 1 translation and then patch THAT with jeffman’s EarthBound translation to have both translations in the game.
A little while ago I went ahead and made an early version of a guide I was writing up on graphics hacking for Mother 3, you can look at it here. It’s geared towards translating the games, but the ideas are the same, especially with NLCompressor (which is a great tool).

Clone5184: Moderately Decent Source Mapper. I’m fairly certain you’re looking for an Earthbound Soundfont, as that’s the game that the sample appeared in. This is the Mother 3 Soundfont, and while it’s for a similar game, the music and sounds used are quite different. Hopefully that’ll point you in the right direction!
The isometric view is an essential aspect for any Mother remake. Mother was one of the first games to use that perspective, and dumping that aspect just to be “in the style of Mother 3” is blasphemy to the original game. I’m pretty sure that Mother 3 didn’t have the isometric view because: A) Brownie Brown was lazy.
