It’s a shame too, because Snack Shack is actually, genuinely, great. The film follows AJ (Connor Sherry) and Moose (LaBelle), two kids living in 1990’s Nebraska. The two have great plans to make it big, get rich and enjoy life together through various (unsuccesful) ploys, including betting on dog racing, brewing their own beer (they’re only 15) and more.
The premise the book is that the man’s daughter was kidnapped and murdered by a serial killer. One that is never caught. Therefore the mystery aspect. God leads the man to the shack where the murder happened to help him make sense of the tragedy.

May 4, 2024 · Snack Shack really deserves some love. Review. I barely even knew what this movie was about going into it and it really hit the right notes for me. It feels like a mix between late 90s indie films like Empire Records and Breakfast Club era John Hughes. And while it borrows some formula from those movies, it executes them really well.
Dec 14, 2021 · IamRealperson1. The Shack worst movie ever. Not in a good way. Just that. It was recommended. Netflix says it was #2 in my country. I do not believe it. It was literally unwatchable. Could not make it through the weak attempt at some weird christian propaganda.

They scheme and show entrepreneurial energy in pursuing them, legal and illegal. Lots of foul language flies, hot dogs are sold at the pool snack shack, parents are upset, fights with rivals break out, and a pretty girl movies in next door which of course makes things even crazier. This film seems drenched in late- Gen- X nostalgia.
