Charles Napier (12 April 1936 – 5 October 2011; age 75) was an actor and musician from Scottsville, Kentucky who played Adam in the Star Trek: The Original Series third season episode "The Way to Eden" and Denning in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine fourth season episode "Little Green Men".
The Way to Eden: Directed by David Alexander. With William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, DeForest Kelley, Skip Homeier. A group of idealistic hippies, led by an irrational leader, come aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise.

In a 2009 interview with The A.V. Club, Charles Napier recalled being invited to star again on Star Trek, as part of an anniversary celebration. He agreed to appear only if he could play a military character and not "wear that silly shirt again". [4]
The veteran character actor, best known for playing tough guys in dozens of movies and TV shows -- including Supervixens, The Blues Brothers, Silence of the Lambs and two Austin Powers films -- made his mark on two Star Trek series... decades apart.
Charles Napier co-wrote two of the songs he sings in this episode, including "Headin' Out to Eden" and "Looking for a New Land".
