Altrincham (/ ˈɒltrɪŋəm / ⓘ OL-tring-əm, locally / ˈɒltrɪŋɡəm / [ 1 ]) is a market town in Trafford, Greater Manchester, England, south of the River Mersey. It is 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Manchester, 3 miles (5 km) southwest of Sale and 10 miles (16 km) east of Warrington. At the 2011 census, it had a population of 52,419.

- Shirley R. 11 contributions. Good for a walk & cuppa. This is a good place to visit if you fancy a walk. We have been here a few times lately as we had a free entry pass that we got in a newspaper otherwise you will have to pay as it is a National Trust place.
