Belfast is a city in Waldo County, Maine, United States. As of the 2020 census, the city population was 6,938. Located at the mouth of the Passagassawakeag River estuary on Belfast Bay and Penobscot Bay. Belfast is the county seat of Waldo County.

- Visit One Of Belfast’s Independent Bookstores. These aren’t your typical chain bookstores. It’s hard to believe, but there are three independent bookstores in Belfast!
- Purchase Something From A Local Artisan. ➡️ The Lupine Cottage (lupines are those purple flowers you see everywhere) is a co-op of Maine artists. You will find an incredible variety of Maine-made items, ranging from hand-painted scarves to jewelry to wooden kitchenware to glasswork.
