The easiest way to describe the Double Trio incarnation of King Crimson is to say it’s the 1980s Crim with two added members, although that’s an inaccurate account of how it came about. The classic early 80s lineup - Belew, Fripp, Levin, Bruford. Those three albums are so great. The double trio was cool but the tightness and songs of Discipline, Beat, and Three of a Perfect pair are unmatched in my opinion.
