  3. Yoda did this because he wanted Luke to feel the weight of knowledge on his shoulders being the last Jedi, therefore his motivation to intervene at the end of the film... But more so importantly is the reference in the film to what Luke described as the "Jedi Religion" this is important because the emphasis on religion is a loose, subtle theme in this movie.
