May 4, 2015 · The part of it that was settled was usually called "New Toronto" which was it's official organized name as of 1913 and it always had governance ties to Toronto. The name "Etobicoke" was only made official in 1954, which is the same year it became a part of Metro Toronto (the year the Metro system was created).
Jan 20, 2022 · Cons: lots of construction happening (only a matter of time before it becomes overcongested like Toronto and nowhere to park), restaurants seem to be mediocre overall, housing has become unaffordable (small bungalos are going for over a million) I'm in South Etobicoke and been here for 10 years.
Although North York, Scarborough and Etobicoke are part of City of Toronto sometimes they are listed as separate entities. I called in credit card company regarding a transaction and while verifying my identity and there was a small point where the agent said that I mentioned Toronto while address on file lists as North York.

From Etobicoke more options to go against traffic because better options to employment Hubs outside of Toronto (Vaughan, Mississauga, Oakville) and Scarborough ( Markham).
Depends on the part of Etobicoke. I live west of the 427 near centennial park. Nice area, lots of parking, lots of green, lots of schools and playgrounds, Etobicoke creek is great. Most places north of Dixon are meh at best, I wouldn't much want to be up there.
We're looking for apartments or condos in south etobicoke area as mimico and new toronto, places closer to lakeshore, mostly because I don't know if we can buy a car with her having study permit and me a tourist visa and we dont have any credit score yet, so she's probably will be biking or walking to the college the first weeks/months. but we love the idea to have a car and to take the ...
May 5, 2013 · 4. radi81 • Parkdale • 11 yr. ago. High Park, Junction, Junction Triangle, that whole area does have some affordable places and all three neighbourhoods are on or near the Bloor subway line. It's also definitely a safe part of town (though there are very few places in Toronto I'd say aren't safe) 1.
