Krško (pronounced [ˈkə́ɾʃkɔ] ⓘ; [1] ‹See Tfd› German: Gurkfeld[2]) is a town in eastern Slovenia. It is the seat of the City Municipality of Krško. The town lies on the Sava River and on the northwest edge of the Krško Plain (Slovene: Krško polje), which is part of the larger Krka Flat (Slovene: Krška ravan).
Nestled in the basin of the River Sava with its several dammed lakes, Krško with its surroundings of vast fields and rolling hills covered by vineyards and orchards is a true gem still undiscovered by tourists.
