Nov 30, 2022 · Punta del Este is a very particular place because in the middle of the peninsula the sea (Río de la Plata) and the Atlantic Ocean meet naturally, so in one side called "Playa Mansa" you have the sea part (technically it's a river, but nobody cares) that it's more chill and in the other side called "Playa Brava" you have big waves and much more sand to chill.

Nov 24, 2021 · Punta del Este is the most popular beach town, but it’s friggen expensive compared to the rest of South America. Good poker games though. The Spanish they speak, like Argentinian Spanish, is a bit difficult to understand.

Aug 18, 2019 · Punta del Este is nice in the summer, during winter everything is pretty dead, most things are closed. Best time to come is in late December, also February. In January although the weather is great it can be too crowded, mostly the first two weeks.
Jan 3, 2019 · (La Barra-Manantiales) or go the other way to Punta Negra or Piriapolis. Every place has it's unique vibe here. If you are looking for some chill place to just relax, maybe smoke some weed, and get out of the noise you should go to Rocha. (Epecially Punta del Diablo/Cabo Polonio/La Pedrera).
