St. Thomas is located in the heart of Southwestern Ontario in beautiful Elgin County. Surrounding St. Thomas are numerous picturesque towns, lakeside villages and historic hamlets, each with their own unique charm. We're a quick hop from London, Ontario and the shores of Lake Erie.
Named after Thomas Talbot, who helped promote the development of this region during the early 19th century, the city was named the seat of the new Elgin County in 1844 and was incorporated as a village in 1852, as a town in 1861 and as a city in 1881.
Property Tax Due Dates. Interim tax bills are mailed in February. 2024 due dates are February 29th and April 30th. Final tax bills are mailed in June. 2024 due dates are July 31st and October 31st.

Within Pinafore Park, there are 6 park pavilions that can be rented for family reunions, birthday parties, staff gatherings, wedding receptions and more! Each pavilion is unique, but all offer access to water and hydro. To book one of these facilities please call 519-633-7112.
