Kushtia District (Bengali: কুষ্টিয়া জেলা, pronunciation: kuʃʈia) is a district in the Khulna administrative division of western Bangladesh. Kushtia is the second largest municipality in Bangladesh and the eleventh largest city in the country.

In 1947, Kushtia District was formed comprising Kushtia Sadar, Chuadanga and Meherpur Sub Divisions. Later on all these Sub Divisions were turned into separate districts. Of the six upazilas of the district daulatpur is the largest (468.76 sq km, it occupies 28.92% of the total area of the district) and khoksa is the smallest (106.70 sq km).
Later the British East India Company annexed Kushtia to Jessore district in 1776. But in 1828 it was again included in Pabna district. Kushtia subdivision was established in 1861 due to the Indigo Rebellion and in 1871 Kushtia subdivision with Kumarkhali and Khoksa thanas came under the jurisdiction of Nadia District.
