The first film of the series was announced in September 2007, with David Heyman producing and Hamish McColl writing the screenplay. [ 28 ] When filming began, Heyman announced the casting of Colin Firth as the voice of Paddington.
Colin Firth was originally set to voice the rule of Paddington, but was replaced by Ben Whishaw after his voice wasn't suitable for the marmalade loving bear. This film marks the first and only appearance of Millicent Clyde to date.
