The beginners area looked a lot more inviting but i spend the morning chatting going up to the look out in the viewing platform from the gondola while my partner went off for a snowboard.

- Arrowtown. Arrowtown is a super charming gold mining town just 20 kilometers (12.4 miles) outside of Queenstown. Since it only takes about 20 minutes to get here, I come to visit whenever I get the chance!
- Glenorchy. You can’t miss the chance to visit Glenorchy while you’re in Queenstown. It’s a truly magical place with lots of breathtaking hikes, and the trails are much quieter here than they are in Queenstown.
- Paradise. If you thought Glenorchy sounded small, wait until you hear about Paradise! It’s a remote and beautiful area where hardly anybody lives, so I can’t even really call it a town.
- Lake Hayes. Lake Hayes is a beautiful lake that’s just a 15-minute drive from Queenstown. It’s definitely worth making the trip here to check out the scenery and the amazing wineries nearby!
The Old Library Building. This Old Library Building was originally designed by F. W. Burwell. It is believed that this building was given its shape by George Richard Bishop, a stone mason, who migrated from Canada to New Zealand in the 1860s. The library was completed in 1877.

Buckingham Street will plunge you back into the time period with a procession of heritage buildings that make up the small town, well worth taking a short stroll to see.
