- It’s still affordable. Let’s be honest, the cost of living is one of the biggest determinants of where we live. Rents and house prices have gone up significantly in the last few years in Wandsworth, especially if you live in places like Clapham, Balham and Putney.
- It’s really safe. You know when someone describes an area as up and coming because it’s cheap but they really mean it’s a dive? This is definitely not Wandsworth, the safest borough in inner London for recorded crime.
- There are lots of hubs to choose from. Wandworth is huge and there are lot of different micro-communities to choose from, each with its own hub of shops and restaurants.
- It’s really well connected. There’s a misconception about south London being difficult to get to. It’s really not. You can reach the hubs on the eastern side of the borough on the Northern Line and the western side on the District Line.

Pros include excellent transport links and top-rated schools, while some may find the property prices steep.
Pros: Overground train links into central London / out to the south, Wandsworth Common is nice if you’re into being outside etc. & council tax is low. From memory, the area you’re living in is near the south side shopping centre, which wasn’t the best but would cover the basics (ie has a Nando’s and a cinema).
