Satyen Kappu was born in 1931 (age 76 years; at the time of death) in Panipat, Punjab, British India.
He was married and blessed with four daughters, and two of his daughters are, Tripti Kappu Sharma and Uma Bhardwaj.
In 1952, he started working as a theatre actor with the Indian People’s Theatre Association (IPTA) in Bombay. He acted in more than 390 films from the early 1960s to 2000s. He died on 27 October 2007 in Sunder Nagar, Mumbai; due to a cardiac arrest. Reportedly, he was a diabetes patient and had high blood pressure. His funeral was held at the Oshiwara crematorium in Mumbai.
