What are the odds that this is an original painting by Robert Cox. It looks like he almost always signs with his full name but I did find one on an auction site with the signature R. Cox (second image).
Robert Cox found much inspiration for his beautiful floral paintings in California and became one of the most prolific painters of the 1970’s and 1980’s. He used palette knife to create his stylised flowers and was awarded the Brown Hammerson Medal of Honour for services to art in 1986.
