  4. Mar 15, 2016 · I don't know if "Mary Sue" is the correct phrase for this, but I does feel a lot like King is exploring her own desires through Mary Russell here. The whole thing just feels like an unfortunate overstep by the author in an otherwise well written story about Sherlock Holmes and his later life.
