The Library holds collections of international significance to support learning, teaching and research. Including branch libraries, the Library now holds approximately 2.5 million books and journals, along with access to 1.6 million e-books and over 50,000 e-journals.

- The Hunterian. www.gla.ac.uk/hunterian. Founded in 1807, The Hunterian is Scotland’s oldest public museum and largest collection outside the National Museums.
- Hunterian Museum. The Hunterian Museum is home to rich collection of rare and important objects. Located in the University main building, displays include Scottish mineral treasures, dinosaurs, fossils and world culture.
- Hunterian Art Gallery. The Hunterian Art Gallery is located next to the University Library and has a wide range of outstanding works on show. Masterpieces by Rembrandt, Rubens, Chardin, Whistler and Stubbs sit alongside major examples of Scottish art including the Scottish Colourists and Glasgow Boys.
Right in the heart of the main campus, the library opens 361 days a year, from 7.25am to 2.00am. The library's 12 Wi-Fi-enabled floors have hundreds of PCs and 2,500 study spaces. Students can access 2.5 million books and journals and 800,000 e-books and e-journals.
