Ginny plays Quidditch with Harry and her brothers a lot at The Burrow, been mentioned in a couple books. In the book adaptation of Chamber of Secrets we get quite a few moments of Ginny having a massive crush on Harry such as the singing cherub on Valentines Day or a much more detailed monologue about Ginny confiding in Riddle about her feelings for Harry.
Their interactions simply don’t feel as natural or organic as the others. It felt like JK simply wanted Ginny & Harry and forcefully put them together without caring about quality development. From the movies, Ginny felt like a background character more than a side character. Also because of Emma & Daniel chemistry.
Honestly not completely unusual. Like you said, Ginny had obvious crushes on Harry the second she laid eyes on him and the moment she got to hogwarts. Harry obviously didn’t, but sometimes when you first notice you are attracted to a girl, it hits you liken a ton of bricks. There wouldn’t be much buildup on Harry’s end.
