For the first time since Nike had two top-tier Mercurial boots side by side (the mid-cut Superfly and low-cut Vapors), they have given both the boots of this generation a collective name – the Nike Mercurial Dragonfly. Both boots are almost exactly alike save for the mid-cut sock and are priced quite closely too.

Giving us a first proper look at the next generation of Mercurial, Nike have officially unveiled what is effectively the Vapor XIV and Superfly VIII, although they come with a new name…. These are the Nike Mercurial Vapor and Superbly ‘Dragonfly’, so named for the agile nature of the creature on which the design is based.
The Nike Mercurial is currently one of the most popular football boots on the planet, and has been for well over 20 years.
