Mar 27, 2023 · Allspark don’t actually sell these anymore; they do a 180W version (which interestingly is the same dimensions!), but they retail for $679. That’s a fair chunk of coin, but not unreasonable for how it performs. The Kings 200W Solar Blanket is $230, but we’ve never seen near 200W, and they are a lot more inferior in terms of quality.
Mar 9, 2022 · I am in the market for a new solar blanket. My Kickass 250watt lasted 6 months past its warranty and is now in solar heaven. I am currently looking at the VoltX 300watt, the All Spark 225W (with an incredible 5yr warranty) or the Red Arc 150watt (shear quality, but pricey!) Not so keen on the Kings 200 watt( although obviously cheapest!)
Oct 9, 2021 · The Kings solar blanket also has a small tab that you use when its packed up, which has a habit of blowing over the blanket. It blocks about 10cm x 10cm, and that’s enough to basically kill the generation completely. When you set it up, its important to ensure this tab is tucked under the blanket.
Go for the best, smoothest one, that can roll with minimal effort, and looks great. And also UNrolls with minimal effort too. (And buy a cover for after you roll it up. I bought a gray cover and not only does it help keep the sun off of the solar cover, but it hides the ugly, unsightly solar cover itself.)

However, too much weight can defeat this good quality of solar blankets, so there is no point in choosing a heavy blanket unless you need a lot of power.
Dec 30, 2019 · Users do not realise the importance of good solar controllers and the added longevity on AGM batteries. I am not at all fussed on blanket type panels. In the inflatable boat a necessity. Like flat/flexible panels the failure rate is huge. The other issue is all the heat goes directly into the roof on whatever they are mounted.
