Thirty-eight autistic and 32 non-autistic Mandarin speaking children completed tone and. intonation perception tasks, each containing a function and form condition. Results suggested that. the abilities to discriminate tone and intonation were not impaired at either the form or function level.
Aug 29, 2023 · In terms of the dynamicity of intonation (along with pitch range), Wehrle et al. found acoustic evidence that most autistic speakers produced a more melodic intonation style than controls, while none produced a more monotonous intonation style.
