Jan 3, 2021 · Native to Georgia are 3 evergreen species: Rhododendron catawbiense, R. maximum and R. minus. Usually R. catawbiense - or mostly a hybrid - is the one you are most likely to find for sale. This is a photo of the evergreen R. minus, blooming in early May at Sprewell Bluff WMA (notice the old leaves, new ones will emerge after blooms).
