How Do I Change My ROBLOX Username and Display Name?
We all have Usernames which we regret making. Maybe you made it when you were younger and it doesn’t hold up, or maybe you spelt it wrong originally and want to correct it.
ROBLOX allows you to change this username, as well as your Display Name. It’s important to note that there are different rules and applications of both Usernames and Display Names.
A ROBLOX Username is the associated name with your account when you created it. This is required to login to your account, as well being the unique identifier of your account. No two players can have the same Username, and as such, is completely unique.
A Display Name is how other players will see you in-game. This feature appeared in 2021 and is available to all players free of charge. While Usernames are unique, two or more players can have the same Display Name.
Changing your username on ROBLOX is an easy, but expensive process. Changing to a new Username requires a cost of 1000 Robux to change, so make sure you’re willing to part with that Robux in order to amend your name.

To change your ROBLOX Username:
•Login to ROBLOX as normal
•Select the Settings cog in the top right
•Make sure you’re on the Account Info tab of Settings and click the pencil icon next to your Username
You can change your Display Name for free, once every seven days. This is how other players see you in-game and isn’t unique to one player. This allows for players to be seen as their desired name, without incurring the costs like Usernames do.
To change your Display Name:
•Login to ROBLOX as per normal
•Click the cog in the top right to enter Settings
•Once on the Account Info tab, click the Pencil icon next to the Display Name tab
•Enter your new Display Name and click save. Your old Display Name will be replaced with your new name.
