- Wi-Fi Calling and 4G Calling isn’t currently available outside the UK, but you can make calls using 3G and 2G networks in countries that have these services. Plus, you can still use Wi-Fi and 4G to access the internet and apps. We're working on launching 4G Calling abroad for the near future.

May 29, 2024 · While turning off roaming means you won’t be able to call, text, or connect to the internet anytime you want, you can still use your phone overseas without roaming when connected to Wi-Fi. You’ll just be limited to using apps only.

Make sure you have a decent cellular signal, and cellular data is working (I was on 4G, but 3G should in theory work). In my case I was on the SFR network in France with roaming enabled. 4. Enable WiFi Calling in iPhone settings and wait for about 1 minute.
