You can see if a group is visible or hidden in the About section of the group. Visible: Anyone can find the group in search and other places on Facebook. Hidden: Only members can find the group in search and other places on Facebook. Go to facebook.com/groups and select your group.
The privacy settings of your group (Public/Private) tell you who can see your group's content and its members. In a Private group, only members can see who's in the group and what they post. In a Public group, anyone can see who's in the group and what they post, including non-members.
It is not about private groups, as those do appear in search results and are marked as such. I tried searching the name of the group verbatim, matching letter case and all, but it just does not appear in the Facebook group searches with any keywords.
Feb 5, 2015 · If you are not friends with them, then you won't see anything that has a privacy setting of "Friends", but you will see things that have a privacy setting of "Public" or possibly "Friends of Friends" (if you are friends with their friends).
