Manage your account online. Once you purchase a Compass Card, link your card to your U-Pass BC account, check your eligibility, and load your U-Pass BC each month. To get started, select your school and sign in. Don’t forget to visit compasscard.ca to take advantage of card registration.
The U-Pass BC benefit may only be used by the student registered to the online account, and who possesses valid student identification that matches the ID used to request the U-Pass BC benefit. If you are taking classes at two different institutions, you must carry and produce the ID for the institution whose U-Pass BC program you have linked to your Compass Card.
Students can use the U-Pass BC for all TransLink bus, SkyTrain, and Seabus service in Metro Vancouver without paying additional fares including the YVR airport surcharge. U-Pass BC holders receive a discount when using West Coast Express and the pass is also valid for use with HandyDART services.
U-Pass BC is a universal transit program offered by Douglas College in partnership with the Douglas Students’ Union (DSU), TransLink and the Province of British Columbia. U-Pass BC provides affordable access to public transit in Metro Vancouver for eligible students. A number of post-secondary institutions have joined the program.
Once you have your Compass Card, go to the U-Pass website and follow the instructions below to load your U-Pass BC: Select "Capilano University" from the drop-down menu. Log-in using your Capilano ID and password. Link your Compass Card by entering the 20-digits and CVN on the back of your Compass Card. Request your U-Pass BC for the current month.

The U-Pass BC program costs $184.00 per term for the Winter academic term or $46.00 per month for Summer (subject to change) and is mandatory for all members of UBC's Alma Mater Society (AMS), excluding students who are enrolled in strictly distance education courses. The cost is included as part of your AMS student fees.
