  1. Dec 23, 2019 · The study of land use change in urban and regional systems has been dramatically transformed in the last four decades by the emergence and application of cellular automata (CA) models. CA models simulate urban land use changes which evolve from the bottom-up.

  2. May 1, 2023 · Cellular automata (CA) is an important model to simulate land-use change, and the cellular unit can influence the organizational structure, scale selection, and evolutionary ability of CA through its size and shape. Therefore, determining a reasonable cellular unit is essential for land-use change modeling using CA models.

  3. Apr 28, 2022 · The urban expansion simulation was based on cellular automata. 2.2. Data and Criteria. The data collected and used in this study included data graphs of driving factors such as GDP, subway, digital elevation model (EDM), elevation, highway, river, slope, population, soil, school, and hospital, from 2005, 2010, 2015, and 2018.

  4. Apr 7, 2021 · Abstract. In recent decades, cellular automata (CA) have become popular for evaluating and forecasting urban transformation over time and space, especially in rapidly developing countries. These models enhance the understanding of urban dynamics and the complex interplay between land-use changes and urban sustainability.

  5. Nov 29, 2020 · CA models are widely applied to the simulation of cell-based urban land use changes (Feng et al. 2011). When coupled with multinomial logistic regression, the CA models can simulate urban land use changes by reflecting various change drivers and statuses with regard to the neighboring cells (Mustafa et al. 2018). We developed a CA model and ...

  6. Jul 5, 2021 · A common approach to simulate and predict urban growth is cellular automata (CA) modelling (Liu Citation 2008). This modelling approach enables researchers to predict where land use and land cover changes are likely to occur and how such changes might be distinct in different locations or under different conditions.
