Oct 20, 2023 · I built this creeper farm: and it’s still spawning spiders. The stone slabs are placed as seen, and in the layer below you can see a test I did with carpets being placed in a 3x3 square pattern, covering each corner, and neither technique has worked.

When trapdoors are placed on a 2 block high ceiling, it lowers the height to 1 13⁄16 blocks high. This is tall enough to allow creepers to spawn, but short enough to prevent other mobs such as zombies and skeletons. In Bedrock Edition, this mechanic may not work. Be aware some Creeper farms can also spawn Spiders. This is easily avoided by removing...
This design requires 2 cats. It's a fairly simple build and despite its small size, it produces around 700 gunpowder per hour which is enough in the early game. The build layout is in the form of an hourglass, and to make sure only creepers spawn, trapdoors are placed on the roof as creepers are slightly smaller than zombies and skeletons. An AFK p...
This design is best used on the cold ocean biome, although it can be used on land, albeit with a bit of spawn proofing to boost the rates. Namiature's design is almost similar to Gnembon's creeper farm, but instead of using a redstone timer to push the creepers away, the creepers are transported to the killing chamber by using cats. Also, instead o...
Jun 20, 2024 · Creepers flee from ocelots and cats within a 6-block radius, with faster movement than when pursuing a player. Cats and ocelots do not attack creepers. Why are Spiders spawning in my creeper farm bedrock? Be aware some Creeper farms can also spawn Spiders. This is easily avoided by removing 3-by-3 areas in the farm.
Bedrock mobs spawn on the NW corners. For spider blocking this means that if your northernmost or westernmost rows don’t contain buttons then the spiders won’t be blocked there. You will either have to remove or add a row to make that happen. Or shift the buttons over.
Jul 13, 2020 · This pattern of slabs seems to work fine, so far in Bedrock as well, but spawning in Bedrock is infuriatingly slow so I can't be bothered to watch it any more. ATTACHMENTS 2020-07-14_06.06.28
After todays update it seems that creeper farms won't work anymore. They end up spawning more spiders than they do creepers at this point. Did they do a hidden change for the spider spawn area to be a 1x1? They will spawn on the levels I replaced with Moss Carpets, so it seems like spiders are now going to be spawning anywhere they can in a 1x1 ...

The carpets do also prevent creeper spawns on those exact blocks, so you don't want to place too many. The layouts in the build tutorial videos are often optimized for whatever shape the platform is, to minimize the number of carpets used while still achieving the 3x3 elimination.
