The Bug Net is a tool added by Familiar Fauna. Right clicking a Butterfly, Dragonfly or Pixie with an empty Bug Habitat in the player's inventory will catch the creature and put it inside the Habitat.
You can catch butterflies, snails and dragonflies right-clicking with a butterfly net. However, you can only catch them if you've got a bug habitat in your inventari. This way, you can catch bugs (and snails) and then release them, creating a nice garden.
