Great, dynamic pricing for point redemption. There goes the value of using them right down the drain! The looking at redemption rates, they are valuing the points at about 18 cents. In my mind, if you buy ahead of time you could land a round trip for potentially a similar number of points. You will need to pay taxes. I've attached some screen shots. Those ho used these for last minute booking are loosing out here as fares can really jump.
