I also don't see how Tatum's short-lived views on Gale would impact Dewey's romance with her. Tatum and Gale had one brief interaction via Sydney. They were inconsequential to each other, and I don't think it even bares discussion.

Dewey doesn't act like he lost a sister and when Tatum was mentioned it was in throwaway lines by Stone in 3 and Gale in 2. And then they finally had Dewey mention Tatum in 4 after Olivia was killed they deleted it
