Harry did a good job but he didn’t do it thinking it would be the last time. But Harry had himself and his other friends to worry about. He wasn’t thinking he’d never have Hedwig by his side after that. In the movie, Hedwig sacrificed himself to save Harry. The book was so much more real to me.

Dobby's entry into the Wizarding World in Chamber of Secrets was quite comical and a bit grating, but he soon evolved into one of the biggest allies that Harry Potter had. If one character remains the most hated byHarry Potterfans, it is Dolores Umbridge. So much worse in the books. A lot of people on this sub say they think the movie version is better, because Hedwig sacrifices herself and all, but I’ve always thought the book version is so much more impactful, in large part because it’s so unnecessary. She gets hit by a killing curse that missed its mark.

The movies usually make poor changes to the story in order to fit things into a film script, but occasionally they change something for the better. It's one of the great changes in the Harry Potter movies when Hedwig- gets to sacrifice herself to protect Harry instead of the extremely undignified and helpless end in the book.
