Founding member Jim McCarty currently contributes as a writing and recording member of Cactus on occasion but no longer does live tours.
Cactus is a name that invokes fond memories for many 70's hard rock fans. It's been over 30 years since the band broke up, but now original members Carmine Appice, Tim Bogert, and Jim McCarty have reunited, along with former Savoy Brown singer Jimmy Kunes, and unleashed a new album on Escapi Music called V.
The reunion saw original members Appice, bassist Tim Bogert, and guitarist Jim McCarty joined by former Savoy Brown vocalist Jimmy Kunes and Randy Pratt on harmonica. On Tightrope , Appice, Kunes, and Pratt are joined by guitarist Paul Warren and bassist James Caputo (Bogert, who also played with Appice in Vanilla Fudge, retired in 2008 and died in early 2021).
