So the idea is that I will take damage from the hellstones instead of the bosses and with high armor the damage from the hellstone should be reduced to 1. The damage reduction formula is. Damage Reduction = Ceiling (Defense * 0.5) (but never lower then 1) I have 70 armor, that would give me a damage reduction of 35.
Jun 19, 2011 · Yes, they will move in. The only wall requirement is that it is solid. As with Spikes, NPCs do not take damage from contact with the Hellstone. Although Hellstone emits light, it doesn't count as a room's light source; hence the Torch. I'm guessing you're not fond of the Guide.

Due to a bug, Hellstone does not damage NPCs. Hellstone was added after a user suggested a "firestone" of sorts. Despite the Guide claiming that Underworld is made of Hellstone, the majority of terrain were made by lava and ash blocks.
