The mods expressed an intention to fix this ages ago, but the sub isn’t moderated to the rules. Pointing out the rules and the fact that a post is against the rules/a shitpost/low effort normally results in a downvote pile-on, which is unique to this sub.
The sea of thieves servers aren't built for that. People in the past have gotten banned for editing configs for Higher FOV so its Safe to say that Mods will most likely never happen for this game. I seriously doubt we'll ever see anything like that, which is kind of a shame.
I'd not risk it. Most games like these have mod detecting software so even if you're not modifying gameplay files you'll still be banned because you're modifying. Besides that I think I read something in the ULA about this being against the rules.
