A nurse-patient relationship is the professional relationship between a nurse and a patient. It involves everything from communication, emotional, physical, and spiritual support, medication administration, and performing treatments to end-of-life care.
The results of the latest study by Chung et al. conducted in 2021 indicate the positive correlation of the two constructs: nurses’ well-being (healthy way of living, satisfaction, joyfulness) and their competence in establishing a nurse–patient relationship.

The study took place in Catalonia, Spain, at a university hospital and on the advanced life support (ALS) ambulance in the same town that has 131,255 inhabitants. In the present study, the aim was to select a group of nurses with experience in ALS ambulance care and emergency department (ED) care.
