Dec 26, 2016 · Alien Isolation definitely shows less banding with the deep color option enabled on a 10-bit display, but you probably won't notice it unless you disable the film grain. Film grain/noise tends to mask banding problems really well. Tomb Raider 2013 had a "high precision" mode which helped reduce banding.

This has nothing to do with Color Banding. Blacks becom more Grey like LCD with the Gamma Bug. 80% of the time, when you see Color Banding in Games, the banding is in the sky because most games use poorly resolved textures or which are designed with only 6 or 8 bits while the rest of the game is designed for 8 or 10 bits and more.
However you NEED a TN for gaming because an IPS or other LCD has huge amounts of input lag, which is much more annoying than color banding. So either wait for the next technology (OLED?), get an inferior monitor (IPS), or just deal with the color banding. 3. Award. porksmash.
Sep 18, 2021 · There's a homebrew solution that is meant to switch the display into HDR when you launch specific games, but that didn't work for me. Even with a C1 though, the set has more color banding than I would have expected, based on reviews. You can see the difference between an 8-bit and 10-bit gradient, but it's not a perfectly clean 10-bit gradient.
Jun 13, 2020 · There’s your problem. Set it to ”Game Console” Game Mode and set it to use 4:2:2 10-bit in NVCP. PC Mode ”forces” 4:4:4 so it doesn’t use 10-bit even when set to 4:2:2 due to HDMI 2.0 bandwith limitations. When HDMI 2.1 GPU’s are out you’ll be able to use RGB 10-bit Full Range HDR in PC Mode :) 0.
