In both emulators, the atari.cfg file is shared between Atari computers and the 5200. In lr-atari800, the core options likewise apply to both by default. However, for either emulator, if you have a core options file in your atari5200 directory, it will let you have separate settings for just the 5200 system.

May 28, 2019 · The list of games that uses artifacting to get colors is HUGE and includes classics like Lode Runner, Flight Simulator II, the Ultima series, and more. NTSC AND PAL. lr-atari800 defaults to PAL. Which is why the Internet is full of images like the black & white first one, rather than color ones like the second one.
May 6, 2018 · default = "lr-atari800" Still I get this condition where the runcommand "launching <rom>" is displayed twice. Looking at the runcommand.info and runcommand.log, things look reasonable. The log file indicates it is reading the .atari800.cfg, which looking at that also has MACHINE_TYPE=Atari 5200. Any toughts? Thanks

Atari800 now includes Altirra BIOSes for all emulated systems: 400/800, XL/XE, and 5200; as well as Altirra BASIC. It is now possible to use the emulator without providing any ROM images.
