  2. Aug 5, 2018 · Seven years is a long time for people to grow up and change, and of course none of the Harry Potter characters ended up exactly the same as when we first met them (aside from Hagrid, of course, the old reliable!).

    • He Can Be Vindictive. Harry does not always keep his cool. Specifically, he had conflicts with Draco and with Voldemort over and over again. At first, being the nice guy he is, he tried to handle things reasonably.
    • He Can Be A Bit Obsessive. One trait Harry shares with Hermione and Ron (expressed to different degrees, in different ways) is that he can be a bit obsessive.
    • He Has Been Known To Be Moody. Harry is a teenager, so an unsurprising flaw is his moodiness. He can be sensitive, and this is understandable; he lost his parents, he always feels like a lot of pressure is on him, and he has faced some terrible enemies throughout the years.
    • He Can Be Impulsive. In the novels and films, Harry always seemed to have unrealistic expectations for himself and others. Eventually, he could no longer handle it; he would jump the gun and throw himself into a situation at the wrong moment or in the wrong way.
    • Becomes A Skilled Wizard. Harry Potter might be incredibly famous in the Wizarding World before he even knows about it, but he is also an extremely gifted wizard.

    • His Scar Fades. This a change that might go unnoticed by a lot of people, but Harry Potter does undergo a physical change throughout the series. His scar is one of the most common traits that is known about him and as a young child, it is very clear, red, and visible from afar.
    • Less Judgemental. One of Harry Potter's worst traits is just how judgemental he is. Perhaps because he has had to grow up with the Dursley's when he enters the Wizarding World he instantly seems to judge everyone he encounters, most notably Draco Malfoy and Severus Snape.
    • CHANGED: NEVILLE LONGBOTTOM. The character who undergoes the most change throughout the series is the character who was so close to being the chosen one, Neville Longbottom.
    • STAYED THE SAME: DUMBLEDORE. Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore is one of the franchises most iconic characters, and with good reason. He is so central to the story overall and Harry particularly, and has a big part in defeating Voldemort.
    • CHANGED: HERMIONE GRANGER. Arguably, any of the three main heroes have changed the most, Harry and Ron both did change. However, the evidence points to Hermione to have been the one who underwent the most change.
    • STAYED THE SAME: HAGRID. Hagrid is everyone's favorite half-giant and one of the most iconic and beloved characters in the entire Potter franchise. Therefore, the fact he undergoes very little change through the series is not a bad thing; we love him how he is.
  3. Jun 25, 2017 · Even more important than its effect on fan culture in general, Harry Potter and, specifically, the three-year gap between the fourth and fifth installments in the series known in fandom as “the...

  4. Jul 8, 2019 · Crysel, Cook, Schember, and Webster (2015) argued that being sorted into a particular Hogwarts House through the Sorting Hat Quiz is related to empirically established personality traits. We replicated their study while improving on sample size, methods, and analysis.
