In a Windows network, you can have one Active Directory domain (company.com) for many servers, but each server has it's own hostname (server1.company.com, server2.company.com). I've seen that the Assets > Domains tab allows you to enter just one FQDN for multiple IP addresses (they show " qualys.com " as an example).

- Manage Your Domains
The Whois public server contains registration information for domain names and IP addresses. Note for Unit Managers. If you are a Unit Manager, then you must add the new domain to an asset group that you've been assigned. Once added, new domains are available in your business unit.
Once a domain is added to your account you can add or change the IP address netblocks and approved hosts for the domain. Go to VM/VMDR > Assets > Domains. Identify the domain you want to edit, select Info from the Quick Actions menu and then click Edit in the Domain Information window.

When you run a discovery scan we will create a map that gives you an inventory of your network devices as seen from the Internet (perimeter devices) or Intranet (internal devices). If you run discovery scans on a regular basis you can keep track of your continually evolving network. Changes in firewall rules or DNS setups may allow intruders to fin...

Yes. Go to Scans > Setup > Excluded Hosts to create a list of IPs that you want to exclude from all maps and scans launched by all users. These hosts will not be scanned even if specified as part of the map target. An excluded host appeared in my map results. How come?
You customize your map by changing the map settings in a scan option profile. Go to Scans > Option Profiles to see the option profiles available to you or to create a custom profile. By launching a map on a domain in your account, the service tells you what your network looks like and gives you a mapping of your devices. To view information on a domain in your account, go to VM/VMDR > Assets > Domains, hover over a domain name and then select Info from the Quick Actions menu.
When scanning by IP address, during discovery Qualys performs a reverse lookup of the IP address. The name that is returned is used as the DNS name for the asset, and reported in QID 6. If the IP is in a DNS tracked range, that name is used (and is required) for tracking purposes.
