Jul 17, 2024 · Joseph Schumpeter and Alfred Marshall pioneered the study of innovation and entrepreneurship as key forces of economic development. This article offers an overview of key ideas developed by these influential economists in works published between 1890 and 1944.
Schumpeter's ideas on economic development appeared first in his Theory of Economic Development, which was published in German language in 1911 (The English edition was published in 1934).
