Potions, are a Boost that offers players boosted pet damage, currencies, and hatch chances from eggs (excluding exclusive eggs). They can be obtained by either ranking up, collecting lootbags, claiming Rank Rewards/VIP gifts, and more. All potions currently in the game are tradable.

Standard Potions
When a potion is clicked it is used regardless of the outcome. If there is an existing bonus, there are different outcomes based on what tier of potion is used compared to the tier used for the existing bonus.

If there is an active bonus, the bonus time is increased by the potion effective time.

Upgrading potions costs diamonds and a number of potions from the previous tier.

The XP gain increases (very) slightly for each level because of increased damage. The gain is not completely predictable. Some pets seem to consistently get more XP than others, even if they are the same type, at the same level and with the same charms.
Ultimates are a feature in Pet Simulator 99, they were added in Update 6. Currently, there are 10 Ultimates you can equip and level up to a higher tier to make them more powerful. I noticed that some pets will consistently get more XP, even if they are the same level and have the same charms. Your tests are also very short. I tested over several days.
