Nov 23, 2023 · Generally, the fulfillment of transactional psychological contracts has a mildly positive and significant impact on employees’ engagement, whereas the fulfillment of relational psychological contracts strongly and significantly affects employees’ engagement in this town.
Results have shown negative effects on both attitudes and behavior toward the organization. Over the last decades, there has been an increasing interest in the interaction and processes involved in developing and maintaining psychological contracts and repairing them after perceptions of breach.
Psychological contract fulfillment displays positive reciprocity where employer–employee obligations are respected. Breach highlights the lack of reciprocity and violation that can lead to negative reciprocity in the search of compensation from unfair mistreatment.
The findings revealed that psychological contract fulfillment positively impacted employees’ work engagement, intrinsic motivation, and affective commitment during the COVID-19 outbreak, and indicated that perceived organizational support significantly but partially mediates the positive associations between PCF and these work-related variables.
