  1. This episode does an excellent job of humanizing (for lack of a better term) the Chigs. Up until this point, they were faceless space monsters, here we see that for all their differences, they are still people with human-like emotions. Rowland is terrific here in a story with minimal dialogue. Level of Necessity.

Planned for five seasons, it only ran for one season from 1995–1996 before being canceled due to low ratings. It was nominated for two Emmy Awards and one Saturn Award.

  3. The special effects were impressive and stand up pretty well watching the show today. I loved the show when it originally aired and bought the series on DVD and still enjoyed it quite a bit. It was an early example of Fox fucking over a show that didn't immediately hit it big.

  4. Space: Above and Beyond: Created by Glen Morgan, James Wong. With Morgan Weisser, Kristen Cloke, Rodney Rowland, Joel de la Fuente. The Earth is embroiled in a desperate war against alien invaders, and this series focuses on one squadron of Marine pilots involved in it.

The characters, the acting, the Hammerheads and the Cinematography are all amazing! The Aesthetics, the Sound effects and the tone are extremely 90s but I love it.

Unfortunately, despite an aggressive advertising campaign, the show fizzled in the ratings and was cancelled after a single season.
